Air Max 96 "Supreme - Black" CV7652 002

The Supreme x Nike Air Max 96 “Black” is a collaboration between the “World Famous” streetwear imprint and Nike on the retro performance runner that debuted in 1996. Obscure in comparison to the design’s notable contemporaries like the Nike Air Max 1 and Air Max 90, the Air Max 96 was released one year after the Air Max 95 and has been largely absent from retro releases in recent years. Until now. Supreme unearthed the shoe for its Spring/Summer 2021 collection and modified its design with translucent panels to its side profile. The new look replaces the mesh panels that were on the original Air Max 96. The rest of the upper, save for the collar and eyelets, is finished off in black leather. A red embroidered Swoosh can be found on the lateral heel. Supreme branding appears beneath the red embroidered Swoosh on the top of the tongue and around the edges of the tongue. A silver Supreme branding plate resides on the heel. The styling of the visible Air units in the black midsole is similar to that of the Air Max 95 with visible Air in the heel and forefoot.
