The Air Jordan 5 “Anthracite” is a recontextualized design of Michael Jordan’s fifth signature shoe that features reflective panels. This February 2021 release switches up the look of the all-time classic Jordan 5 silhouette by employing the reflective material typically found on the tongue to the clear netting on the bottom of the tongue and the mid-panel. Elsewhere, Jordan Brand places soft black mesh on the toe, mid-panel, and eyelets. Plush Anthracite or grey suede detailing is located on the collar, quarter panel, and toe cap. White contrast stitching outlines the aforementioned panels. The tonal embroidered “23” branding found on the heel is in reference to the original Player Exclusive version of the Air Jordan 5 worn by Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls in 1991. A black Jumpman logo appears on the black mesh tongue, on the back of the shoe, and on the insole. Silver shark tooth detailing highlights the black midsole to complete the look.
